Our baby and toddler music classes have been running in Fish Hoek for the longest time. Our programme launched there in 2008, initially run by our Founder.
The branch has recently experienced an extremely happy 5 years under the incredible Lauren Harper. In January of this year, Jo Cook took over the branch. As an experienced teacher and musician, Jo’s doing an amazing job of running the classes this year.
What can you expect from one of our music classes?
If you haven’t experienced our programme, here’s a little snapshot. Our baby and toddler music classes are an hour long. The first 30 minutes is our gently structured music programme, rich in learning and stimulation for the little ones.
The second 30 minutes is social time with refreshments provided for the grown ups. This is a golden time for the grown ups too, when they have a chance to relax with a delicious refreshment, and get to know each other.
Our classes remain small with a maximum of 6-8 in each group, depending on the venue.
This means that friendships can grow quickly and easily.
Typically our classes are attended by moms or grannies or nannies. But, occasionally dads or grandpas will attend too. And, we love that!
Because our classes are 100% set to music with the class teacher leading the singing, it’s just so lovely to hear male voices join in.
The musical men of Fish Hoek
This week Jo shared this incredible picture with our team. It’s one of her classes in Fish Hoek which is made up of only men.
There are three dads, two grandpas and one uncle. What a delight to witness!
We just love to see men willing to make the time to come along and join in the musical adventure. It’s both inspiring and heart-warming!
To the musical men at our Fish Hoek branch, we love that you’ve been able to be part of our music classes.
We salute you!
It’s time to Wriggle and Rhyme!
