This term our blogs have focussed on our extraordinary team of branch teachers. These are the passionate, kind, committed women who run our BABY and TODDLER classes across Cape Town.
We’ve showcased each of their branches, week by week, as a tribute to the fantastic work they do within our team.
Music for babies and toddlers
Wriggle and Rhyme’s baby and toddler music and movement classes currently run in Fish Hoek, Meadowridge, Constantia, Claremont, Rondebosch, Panorama and Melkbosstrand.
But, our team is bigger than our branches. We also have a wonderful group of teachers who teach our PRE-SCHOOLS programme in a growing number of partner schools across the South Peninsula, Southern Suburbs and Hout Bay.
Music for pre-schoolers
These teachers are also passionate, diligent and committed to using our unique music programme to light up children’s brains in their classes each week. They deliver their classes with kindness and energy, as they connect with hundreds of children across the Mother City each week.
Both of these teams are supported by our Founder and Programme Director and her incredibly capable PA. Their job is to make sure that the members of the teams feel valued, supported and equipped to do the best that they can within the Wriggle and Rhyme business model.
Celebrating our strengths
We got together as a team on Saturday to celebrate our uniqueness as individuals and our strength as a team … it an afternoon of MUSICAL UBUNTU.
The afternoon started by focussing on our individual strengths. We created this beautiful “word cloud” which was a visual representation of the individuals within our team.
Then, we took some time to focus on our individual strengths using an online tool. After answering 100 questions about yourself, the tool gives you your top 5 strengths, with remarkable accuracy. This exercise sparked interesting discussion. It gave us a chance to reflect on where we might need more support to strengthen areas that aren’t already strong.
A picture of words …
It was a wonderful reminder of what we like to call MUSICAL UBUNTU. The concept that “I am because we are”. Our individual strengths contribute to the strength of our wider team. This is a space that encourages and supports growth.
Strong on our own, but stronger together …
We’re looking forward to taking a break over the school holidays. It’s wonderful to end another busy term with such a positive reminder. A reminder that, just like the instruments of an orchestra, we each have a role to play in making music even more interesting and beautiful!
