We are so excited to welcome Annetjie Kleve to our team. Annetjie will be running our BABY and TODDLER classes from her home in Fish Hoek from next month (October 2025).

Fish Hoek was the birthplace of Wriggle and Rhyme 17 years ago. October is our birthday month! It’s so exciting to be re-opening our classes there as we celebrate our 17th birthday.
We’re also so excited to introduce you to Annetjie as we all get to know her better.
Annetjie, please tell us a bit about yourself …
Hello! My name is Annetjie Kleve, I’m 38 years old and a first-time mommy. I am a “born and bred” Fish Hoek girl with deep roots in the Valley. I absolutely love our home and community.
I am married to Aden, a local Kommetjie boy and we have a daughter, named Leah. We have spent many years travelling all over the world and working abroad before deciding that we wanted to raise our own family in Fish Hoek. I have always loved performing as well as keeping active, so you will often see me running around Fish Hoek or dancing with lots of energy in a Zumba class.

What have you been doing recently?
I have just become a mommy and absolutely love this new chapter in my life. Before that, I was the English teacher at a local private school in our Valley.
I have a passion for teaching, especially ensuring my students grasp the layered complexities that literature and poetry have to offer. Now I am teaching part-time so that I can spend the majority of my time with my daughter which is so much fun and a dream come true.
Why did you choose to pursue Wriggle and Rhyme as a business opportunity?
A few years ago, my niece and nephews attended Wriggle and Rhyme classes. I even joined in on a few and loved them. Since having my own child, I have loved attending all the baby and mommy groups and classes. But when I searched for a Wriggle and Rhyme class, there wasn’t one in the Fish Hoek area anymore.
That’s when my sister-in-law inspired me and suggested I start them. The rest, I guess, is history. Since I have a background in musical theatre and dancing (and basically spent my days performing for my students), this felt like the perfect next step. It also meant I could work from home doing what I’ve always wanted to do- be a fulltime singing and dancing mom!
What are you most excited about?
I am so excited to sing, laugh, connect and teach in a very new and meaningful way. I can’t wait to meet new faces and have my home full of songs and laughter. I am also very excited to be bringing Wriggle and Rhyme back to its roots- the Fish Hoek valley.
As I say, I am a proud valley girl and love our community so it feels very exciting to be starting on this new adventure where I’ll be meeting, connecting and enjoying this wonderful new phase of life with other families.
